I’m so tired of the same boring egg recipes. Don’t get me wrong I’m a huge fan of eggs and I eat them every single morning (I’m sure you’ve noticed by all the egg post). These savory egg waffles are sure to satisfy your morning hunger and help you hit your protein goals. The waffles are filled with spinach and turkey bacon then topped with fresh pineapple. Before you hate too much on this combo, I dare you to try it. The savory combined with the sweet is so dope! If you’re feeling really bold throw some hot sauce on that baby and be in for a real treat.
To make these I used the Dash mini waffle maker, which I love. It’s one of the few waffle makers I’ve used that doesn’t stick and you don’t have to use a ton oil to prevent it from sticking. I pretty much just spray it once after it’s heated with a low calorie oil and that’s enough to prevent it from sticking the rest of the cook time. One warning though, since you have to make each waffle one at a time it does take awhile to make these.
If you are on the fence about trying a savory waffle, this is your sign to try it. I typically alternate between sweet and savory for breakfast. I generally find though that when I eat a savory breakfast I crave less sweets during the day. What do you think? Comment below and let me know your thoughts.
